His passion for assisting clients comes from his personal recovery from shin splints as a State-level rugby champion. Combined with his commitment to emerging evidence that underpins his clinical practice, David is able to individualise treatments by drawing on a broad range of proven interventions for clients of all ages.

John Laidlaw – Counselling Psychologist
John Laidlaw is registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, and has worked as a registered psychologist since 1999. He has counselled either over the phone or in person for over 25 years in a range of settings including crisis lines, community agencies, a university and medical centers.
John has been described as a friendly, resourceful, professional and compassionate psychologist who genuinely cares about people
John is able to assist people presenting with issues such as anxiety, depression, work and relationship problems, loss and grief, stress, self-esteem, disability, trauma and chronic illness.
John’s clinical approach typically draws on a range of theoretical frameworks, namely, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Positive Psychology.
John is available for appointments at our Mernda Village Medical Centre Tuesday & Thursdays and at our Nillumbik Medical Centre Saturday mornings.
