What your Doctor Offers

Your General Practitioners are a team of highly experienced and educated professionals, each with their own areas of interest and expertise, able to refer and consult amongst themselves to assist in providing the best possible care across a large range of medical issues.   

Appointments
Please phone 9216 2600 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or your GP has been called away. Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionists if you require some extra time, for example when consulting for multiple problems or completing forms. Please let us know this when you book the appointment. 

Walk-ins are available and will be triaged and actioned accordingly. 

 

Payment Information.
All accounts must be settled immediately. 

Workcover/TAC: The practice will charge the recommended fees, and you can use your invoice to reclaim the funds from the relevant authority. 

Procedures
Other charges may apply e.g. all procedures are charged privately. If you have had a procedure elsewhere and choose to have follow up at Mernda Village Medical, aftercare charges may apply. Please ask reception for more details. 

Documents and Forms
Completing of documents and forms may incur extra charges depending on the service provided. 

 

Parking
Ample parking is available. There is easy wheelchair access and no steps or stairs. Wheelchairs are available at reception. 

Home Visits
During weekdays we do home visits for REGISTERED patients in the local area if absolutely necessary. These situations should not be confused with emergency situations in which you may need to call an ambulance to attend a hospital. 

Patient Survey
From time to time, this practice invites patients to complete a questionnaire on their views of the practice and suggested improvements.
These surveys are completely confidential and help us to maintain a high standard of service. 

 

Results
Please make an appointment for 1 week after you have any tests or investigations done. In the interests of best practice, results of investigations will not be given to you over the telephone by nursing or reception staff. It is your responsibility to arrange this follow up appointment. 

In the interests of best practice and privacy, and unless otherwise advised, you should book an appointment one week after any investigations/tests have been performed. It is your responsibility to book this follow up appointment to get your results. 

Reminder/Recall Systems
Your doctor is committed to preventative care. The doctor will automatically include you on their reminder system. They may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let your doctor or receptionist know. 

Privacy
Your privacy is an absolute priority. We take great care of private information about you that is held in our records, and we comply with both the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and the Privacy Act 1998. For our full Privacy Policy please click here. 

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. We abide by the 10 national Privacy Principles available at www.privacy.gov.au/health/index.html 

Your rights, feedback and complaints
If you have a problem, we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the receptionist. You may prefer to write to us or use our suggestion box. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. Should you need to make contact, our practice leader on sites email address [email protected]

After Hours
We have contracted Doctor Doctor locum service to provide our out of hours care for our registered patients with no charge. You can contact Doctor/Doctor by telephone when we are closed on  03 7038 4703.

Communication
In line with our privacy policy, the practice will only engage in communicate via telephone, SMS message, in person and fax. 

Please note as we are not able to guarantee the security of emails, sent or received, we will not be able to engage in email communications other than general information.
